Lisa Hudgens has been with SMDD from the beginning as well. She came to us with her dog Suzie at the Bark for Life event. Suzie has been improving amzingly. She won First Place Elite at the Cherokee event with an awesome 23'4" jump. Susie was also invited to the 2012 and 2013 DockDogs World Championships. Treasurer/Co-Founder Trent Steele with Alex
Trent Steele and Alex have been competing in DockDogs for a year now. Alex is a rescue from Wolf Creek Weimaraner Rescue. Everybody asks how Alex was trained and Trent always replies "I threw the ball off the dock and he jumped!" Trent met Tiffany Flach and Karma at the Fall Paw Dive in Charlotte, NC and they created Smoky Mountain DockDogs. Alex's personal best is 24'7". Tommy and Ripley are a world champion team. Their first event was with Carolina DockDogs and have been hooked ever since! Ripley has a great drive for the toy and loves to swim! She is a beautiful Chessie. Ripley was invited to the 2012 and 2013 World Championships. We cant wait to see Ripley in action at the next competition!
Brooke Jillson with Sophie
Sophie is just about 2 years old. She has had a love for the water ever since she was exposed to it. Only recently has Sophie learned the joy that comes with jumping off docks. Brook and Sophie look forward to getting on the dock and competing.

Buckeye is a 13 month old chocolate lab and just started dock diving. She loves the water and to retrieve. She has a 7 year old big brother, Mojo, who doesn't share the passion. They look forward to learning more about the sport and just having fun!

Team Cold Nose College Jumping since June 2013 Willow, is an effervescent, confident, 2 year old Australian Shepherd who has been trained using positive reinforcement training techniques. She’s also a working dog and Mascot of Cold Nose College, a positive dog training and education center in Murphy, North Carolina and founded by Lisa Lyle Waggoner, CPDT-KA, PMCT2, her trainer and doggie mom. Willow earned her Club Junior Big Air Title in her very first dock diving competition at the Cohutta Challenge in Blue Ridge, Georgia in June of 2013 with a personal best of 14’10”. She followed that up by earning her National Junior Big Air title during her second competition at Summer on the Rock in July 2013 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Sam Gentsch is a professional computer geek for a large home improvement company, Rhapsody aka Rhap, a slightly OCD 2yr old Border collie, makes Sam get off the computer and do things like herding, agility, scent work and her most favorite thing in the world Dock Diving! They are good for each other! Rhap was invited to the 2012 and 2013 DockDogs World Championships! Go Rhap Go! ASCII is still learning how to get off the dock. Z is new to the sport and we expect great things from Z.
Kaye Noble with Molly
Molly is from sheep herding stock and fanatical about the other dogs. If loose, will spend her time on herding a dog she happens to focus on. They did agility in Illinois, but when we saw the dock diving she thought she would like to try her. She shows promise in her first lesson so decided to jump into this!! There's a special something about "dog people" and so much fun to be around. Kay has two other border collies and a rescue horse. They are really looking forward to meeting the rest of you guys and your dogs.

Matthew Bohn has been a long time friend of SMDD. He and flyer travel all over to compete in events. Matthew lives in Ohio and a part of Buckeye DockDogs as well. Matthew also helps clubs set up, break down, and everything in between. SMDD gave Matthew the Contributor Award for last year because he helped SMDD so much. We appreciate that he helps ANY club at any event that he is at.

We are ADDICTED to DockDogs!!!! We are half of Team Royal Flush and love to travel to compete anywhere theres a dock! 2013 was our fisrt complete season and have been doing this since 2012. If by chance we are to recieve any gifts during our events we donate 100% to Tails of Hope Rescue out of Locust, NC. Luna Bug is a rescue from CBRR&R. She came to us as a foster and well, we fell in love. Luna is a very loyal and loving pup but at DD events you will think otherwise, lol. She has a toy drive like mad crazy and will "kill it" just coming out of the pool. Genie Marie is our first and was once our only dock diving pup. She started us off in this crazy sport! At our first event I was the one following her cue because she knew what to do already! Genie Marie's favorite toy is the frisbee and to get that out in competition for her is all on me. We pray for no wind when we get on the dock. Genie will go, go, go all day if I let her. These are 2 pups I travel with and absolutely love them to pieces. Alesa Grant and Violet
Violet is a love sponge and a very happy, active and eager-to-please 3-year-old English Springer Spaniel. She's the first female dog I've ever owned, and she's the apple of our eyes! In addition to dock diving, Violet loves watching Star Trek with her dad (well, he likes to think so, anyway), getting belly rubs, strutting around in her sundress at Market Square, chasing the laser pointer, taking up most of the human bed during sleepy-time, playing with her stuffed animals and socializing at the dog park. Like all of our family's dogs before her, it's her world -- we just live in it. :-)

Leslie Wereszczak and her family are big supporters and members of Smoky Mountain DockDogs. Their dog stella is a novice jumper whom won first place at Bristol 2011 and First place at Cherokee with her daughter Olivia. Stella is an amazing German Shorthaired Pointer. She has an amazing drive for her toy. Leslie says "Stella has been dockdiving for two years. She loves the water and loves to go to competitions with her friends!"

Sydney has always been very toy-driven. Her old dog "sister" (16 yr old at the time) taught her how to swim when she was a puppy, by showing her how much fun it was to swim and retrieve a stick thrown into Ft Loudon Lake. She jumped off the edge of the pool at Barkside Lodge all by herself. When they first heard about dock diving, they just knew Sydney would love it! She's only been to one practice session and she told them she wants more...So, they're joining her up!

Daisy started jumping in our pool when she was only four months old. She loves to swim. She has received World invites in 2012, she placed third in the Junior division, in 2013 she received an invite for Speed Retrieve Express, and in 2014 she has received an invite for Youth Handler.
Lily is my crazy, silly lab. When she was just a little puppy she was already jumping in her kiddie pool and swimming. She's very sweet and full of energy. This is only her second season of dock diving.

Nova just turned 9 months old and is a water seeking missile! Beginning at 4 mths old, she started jumping in our pond by running full speed ahead and launching herself from the bank. We brought her to a dock diving practice at Wild Wing Cafe and she never hesitated to go off of the dock. We think we have found her calling in life! We have been to two dock diving practices and are excited about joining your group and learning more about this fun, wonderful sport.

Karen has been employed by Univ. of Tenn. College of Veterinary Medicine for 35 years.Jeff is retired from UPS.Russell (2 years old this coming May) is our 4th German Shorthaired Pointer but our first dock diver.He is absolutely obsessive about retrieving and after noticing he would jump from the bank into the water to retrieve we began to suspect he would jump off a dock as well.Like many,we had seen dock diving dogs on television and were delighted to find that there was a local dock dog club called Smoky Mountain Dock Dogs.We joined SMDD last summer and look forward to continuing to participate.We plan to enter Russell in a couple of competitions this year and are eager to see how he will fare. Bubba was trained as a bird dog but didn't get to hunt much- so I took him to dock dive for first time at very end of 2011 season & he loves it!!! We've been having a blast ever since!! Georgia Belle is Bubba's new little sister & possibly future jumping buddy! Will have to wait & see if she likes dock diving as much as Bubba when she is old enough :) Bubba was invited to the 2013 DockDogs World Championships.

Bria is a purebred dutch shepherd that flunked out of police dog training. She is a handful and loves to play with toys! They also compete in flyball and agility.
Amanda is a PhD student at UT, majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology. She works with bats and the disease White-Nose Syndrome. Bria enjoys helping me when I trap bats all summer.
Karin Harrison with Baylee and Dallas
Karin works with the Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. Baylee started dock diving in 2010 @ 8 yrs young. Not a record breaker but she sure has a lot of fun!

Tiny, Dejasia, and I are new to SMDD. This is our first year to try out competitions. Ever since Tiny was young she has had an affinity for the water. Tiny jumps off docks, boats, and bluffs with her humans. Tiny loves the ball and will do almost anything to get it. Dejasia is a meek, sweet 'cattle pup' and she loves to swim with me. I am wanting to introduce her to the docks and see if I can encourage her to start jumping.

Libby has her UD, RN titles in obedience and her OAJ, OAP agility. We have been training in dock diving at The Canine Ranch in Canton, GA and looking forward to doing some competitions this year. Luke - I adopted him this year; and for a golden who didn't know how swim, he has become a crazy water dog. I am looking forward to seeing his potential in dock diving Indy - My crazy Shih Tzu loves to swim, and be in water of any kind, including the bathtub, water bowl, pool and the lake. Can't wait to see what she can do. Zoey - She loves to lure course, nose work; and some swimming.
Renee Racey with Bray
Bray was orphaned at 24 hours old and was adopted through Southern States Rottweiler Rescue when he was 6 1/2 weeks old. He thinks he's a golden retriever. as he loves everyone he meets (human or animal), loves to fetch tennis balls/sticks and has to be in the water!!! He's only been actually swimming since April. As for me, I have been a Veterinary Technician for 17 years and been in the veterinary field for 23 years. Rottweilers have always been my favorite breed and I can't imagine my life without one! Looking forward to being able to do something with Bray that he loves and enjoy the company of other people that share the love of their dogs that I have. All us dog people are a little nuts, right??

Sky will be 2 on 8/30/14 and she's loved the water and jumping off docks since she was 12wks old. She loves people and her 4 other 4-legged siblings. She's never been "trained" to jump, she just loves to do it.
