Matt and Theresa have been competing since the fall of 2012., when Theresa wandered into a dog festival with indy and saw a dockdogs set up. they only jumped once, but that was all it took. they immediately signed up to become club members as well as dockdogs worldwide members. several years later finds us members of several affiliate clubs and competing now with 4 of our 6 dogs. we believe there is nothing better to do on a hot summer day, than to be outside, hit the dock and play with your best friend.
Bill Hall and Murphy
Bill Hall and Murphy have been jumping with us for a few years now. Murphy will be 12 this year, and is as energetic as ever. Still visiting kids at Childrens Hospital.
Matthew Gyurgyik with Alli, Evee, and Hannah
Alli and I have been dock diving for the last three years. We started at Summer on Broadway in Maryville with a 17ft jump and the rest was history. Alli managed to make it to finals in Iron Dog Warrior (2017) and Speed Retrieve Express (2018) at Worlds! This crazy pup continues to impress! Her sister's Hanna and Eevee aren't fans of the water and thinks Alli is nuts! However, in good sisterly fashion, they her biggest cheerleaders!
Tom Adkins with Baker
Tom and Baker have been jumping with us for a year. Baker is a total loves the water and tries to bite at it while jumping in. Both are adventure seekers and best buds.
Mike Short and Lani
Lani is our 19 month old Chocolate Lab. Her name, Noelani, is Hawaiian meaning "girl from Heaven." Lani lives up to her name as she is the sweetest and most loving dog. She is a bundle of energy and loves to play in the water. It didn't take her long to figure out how much fun it is to run down our dock and dive into the water. So naturally, when she took her first dock diving session, she was hooked! This will be her first year in competition and she is eager to start the season.
Darrah Rorrer and Maddie
Mattie and I joined the club long time ago! (In Mattie Year's).
She loves lakes, rivers, creeks, mud puddles, and DockDog Pools. We've been to World's twice! We had a blast!!! Mattie and I love our SMDD friends and doggies. Looking forward to seeing all of our friends and meeting new ones!
Karen Smith and Buddy
We will be new to the club. My dog Buddy loves jumping off the bank of our pond to fetch his toy so hoping he may take to dock diving. Looking for a new and exciting activity to try!
Leslie Cochran-Timm with Wrigley
Wrigley is not a big jumper, but she is the happiest. She loves the water and would swim all day. Wrigley has been to World's twice. Once as a junior title and the other as a novice jumper.
Fallon Houser with Drachen
I have been a member for a couple years now - just still hoping to free my schedule up to finally compete with Drachen. He loves dock diving! Keep joining so the option is there for us!
Linda Stewart and Bailey
I have been dock diving for six years and this is my second year with SMDD.
Julie Poole with Minnie and Chroma
Julie Poole and the Whippet brigade always invades Yappy Hour! They have been members for several years and compete on several occasions. Look out for them on the dock soon!
John Kelly with Nigel and Jed
We have been members for 3 years. The boys truly love it! Nigel loves running down the dock and splashing in the water and Jed loves every activity that includes his favorite ball!
Matthew Bohn with Flyer and Kratos
Matthew and his pups have been members for awhile. He always helps out with setup and tear down. His pups are pretty awesome. They have been to many World Championships.
Jan Barker with Patrick
Patrick would not jump at the competition last year, but he loves the pool at the K9 center. His mother (Kahleesi Hagman) and other relatives are competitors!
Kaye Noble - President with Team Tank
I have four dogs at home, Megan 12, Molly 8, Boomer 6 and then there's Tank. Molly and Boomer also did dockdiving and still do during practice but Tank has taken the spotlight. He has been a great addition to the crew and keeps us on our toes. I started out in the club as a member, thanks to Trent, on to a board member, then to secretary, and now to Vice President. It has been an exciting journey and can't wait to see what 2019 brings!
Treasurer - Hannah Wolf with Skye, Samie, and Ryah
This is our 2nd season with Smoky mountain DockDogs. We Moved to Tennessee Feb 2018 and we have loved every moment of it. We are excited to introduce Ryah ( a 15 month Belgian Malinois) this year to our team! I rescued her in October 2018. She has only jumped off the dock a couple of times for fun , but she’ll start competing this year with us! Other than DockDogs we love to hike with friends and compete in frisbee league! Samie doesn’t compete but she’s our biggest fan/cheerleader.
Kim Dunn and Katie Dunn with Edgar, Ronny Graham, and Johnny Drama
Kim Dunn is owner of Smoky Mountain K9 Sports. She has many animals, but loves the pointy ears. Edgar, Ronny. and Drama are her dock divers. Edgar started it off by jumping off the dock starting at 1-2 feet. Now they have a pool in their yard. Katie is an awesome handler too, She jumps all three dogs.
Kim is also famous for bringing amazing doughnuts. She has been to every well known doughnut shop on the east coast.
Board Member, Jane Griess and Pippa
Jane and Pippa have been active members in SMDD. Pippa of course loves the water and long strolls on the beach. Jane loves that dockdiving wears Pippa out!
Brooke Shannon with Sophie, Drake, and Dallas
Sophie is the heart and soul of our team. She is the dog that got me into this sport 5 years ago. We have been with SMDD for 5 years, and this is our 6th.
Drake is the comic relief of the team. He has been invited to the world championship twice. He has been doing this for 4 years, making this his 5th season.
Dallas just learned how to play last year. This is his second full season. He is entertaining and a constant reminder that prescience pays off. He learned to swim when he was 5 years old, and competed in is first DockDog event later that year.
Board Member, Lisa Williams with King
King loves the pool so much it can be a funny show of getting him out. As a Novice jumper this team hopes to get better with this season. King’s primary sport is Schutzhund (IPO/IGP) and Dock Diving is just for fun, why not- it’s a blast with SMDD!
Kurt and June Hagman with Curly and Cersei
June’s Dock Dog Curly is in training to be a dock diver - he just learned to swim last fall and he loves to jump. His biggest problem, he he’s cold a lot since he has no fur!
Kurt plans on working with Cersei. She is daughter of dock diving mama, Khaleesi. And she began her career at 6 months. She loves it so much that she jumps over barrier gates and fences to get in the water.
Leah Smith with Bailey, Indy, and Zoey
Bailey is our newest addition and hopefully will be on the dock this summer with her. Indy and Zoey love to swim.
Karin Harrison with Finn and Reign
Finn’s been to worlds twice for senior big air. Reign is just starting out has not been to her first competition yet.
Trish Isbell with Fezzick and Coale
Fezzik is new to the actual jumping in part of dock diving! Finally got the nerve to jump in. We're working on getting at least a little distance. He's having a blast eventho it may be short jumps.
Coale has been jumping a few years and enjoys it! We're hoping to get to the top of the Junior division consistantly! He's a sweet boy and has lots of drive.
Charlotte Blake with Voss, Pita, Yazoo, Heist, Browzer, Salty, Wicked, and Krackle
This is our 4th year competing with DockDogs!
The dogs all bring something different to the table and I enjoy playing, training and competing with each one of them.
We live just south of Nashville in Franklin, TN. We don’t regularly train in a pool. The dogs swim daily in pond here when it warms up.
Voss will be competing in Legend at the 2019 Worlds and I am so thankful to have him healthy and continuing to enjoy jumping for that frisbee. Aztec learned the gave of Speed Retrieve just this past year and blew me away. He and I will be traveling to Vail, Co this year to play at the Go Pro Mountain Games. Pita was off a bit last year for injury, I’m super excited to get her back out with some Super Elite jumps, this time jumping for a bumper. Yazoo... oh Yazoo. Is the character of the team. He loves... no Iives for his toy. We are hoping for some quick Nitro scores, maybe another sub 5 this year. Wicked was a newbie last year and got some fire at Worlds, with all new PBs. We are excited to be competing in the lap division! A few newbies will also be jumping this year; Heist, Browzer, Salty and Krackel.
We have had some highlights over our 3 past World Championships. Our rookie year in 2016, 11 month old Pita won the BA Senior World Championship. That year Voss finished runner up in BA Super Elite and EV High Flyer and top 3 in Spartan. In 2017, Voss brought home the BA Super Elite Cup. Voss also finished runner up in Spartan. Yazoo came in a close runner up in Warrior Iron. This past year Aztec gave a valid effort for the Sonic Cup, coming Runner-up to the amazing Whippet. Wicked the newbie took home the SR Express Championship.
We are excited for the
2019 World Championship!
Voss, Aztec, Yazoo and Wicked will also be in Dubuque this April for the Dueling Dogs World Championship.

Pat Wilkins and Billy
Billy really enjoys this game of flying through the air and landing in the water. And then, doing it again and again and again. He just can't understand why he has to wait for his turn.
Jason Williams with Max
Max is just starting out. We plan to spend time with him this season getting him to enjoy being around water.
